09/25 post

Sorry I haven’t posted lately but nothing has really changed. Kitty is still getting dialysis and her numbers go up and down depending on when she was last treated. She had another fever that she has beaten so her pulse and blood pressure are back down and her oxygen level is pretty good. She is still very sick but she isn’t getting any worse.  It is very frustrating for me because I want my Kitty back now, but it is not unusual in these cases for people to be on the respirator for 3 weeks before they get strong enough to breathe on their own.

We all just have to wait and be patient. Keep thinking good thoughts and Kitty will be back with us before we know it.

Sven, We are all keeping Kitty in many thoughts and prayers and you are in there too. I know how hard it is to be there at a bedside in a hospital. All our love and many hugs,

You both are in my thoughts and prayers. Aliskye sent me this site as she was keeping me informed. I work at a hospital and there was someone of Kitty’s age also hospitalized for H1N1. He was on a vent for 3 weeks, another week or so on the medical floor once out of ICU but then went home, weak but recovering!

You probably don’t know me. I lived in Caid 14 years. Have met Kitty briefly in visit(s) back.

I can’t say I’m pleased to hear about the kidney thing but what Caitriona says is reassuring. Like Elle said, Kitty is on of the “untouchables” and the last person I would expect to face this sort of challenge. I hope it helps to know she’s the FIRST person I’d expect to be able to nip it in the bud! I know you have heard it before but I’ll say it again. Much love for both of you and stay strong.

I know I can’t visit since I catch things way too easily and would be devastated to bring any hitchhikers. However, I’m probably headed your direction from Laughlin later this week. Let me know if I should bring anything or anybody from this end.

I can’t wait to see you both smiling and healthy again!

    Hugs,

Our prayers and thoughts are with her. We know she’s going to get better — just waiting for the news.

I’ve got a great book about a remarkable Viking woman for her to read while she’s recovering — when she gets to that stage, it will be waiting for her.

Big hugs! I can only imagine how hard this is for you. I hope knowing that so many people love you both and are sending a lot of energy toward her healing and your strength helps.
And thank you so much for keeping everyone updated.
    Blessings!

I just read this post. I am glad she is not any worse but I will be very glad when she is breathing on her own. That means she is even closer to being home with Sven & even back in armor. Aran

Thank you Sven, for taking the time to keep everyone informed. Please do take time to take care of yourself too. Kitty is never far from my mind and I wish there were more we could do other than sit by and send messages of support. Be well and know Kitty will be well soon too.

    Much love, Anna Grace

We’re all pulling for her Sven. I know this must be very hard for you and it’s very hard for us as well. The weird thing about that swine flu is it acts a lot like the 1918 flu, striking the healthiest of the healthy like Kitty. I’m sure she’ll pull thru this.
