The latest on Kitty

We finally have a diagnosis.  Kitty has the Swine Flu. I know that it sounds terrible, but at least we know what it is.  The nice thing about this is that the doctors and nurses now know exactly what they are fighting and can concentrate their efforts to get her better. The hardest part about this for me has been the waiting and uncertainty, but at least some of the uncertainty is gone.  At this point we just have to wait until she is strong enough to get off the respirator and breathe on her own. I have talked with many nurses and doctors and have heard a variety of guesses as to when that will be, but the simple truth is we just have to wait until she is healthy enough to get unplugged. I will keep everyone posted and let you all know if anything changes.   Thanks so much for all the support and encouragement you have given me and all the love that you have for her.  I talk to her every day and let her know how much everyone misses her.  She will be back soon.  — Sven

    Sven,

You are both in my prayers — you for strength and serenity to deal with seeing the one you love so ill, calm to deal with those caring for her, and strength to heal for her.

Remember — all those thoughts for her well-being include -you-.

Wow. I didn’t realize it took so long to nail down a Swine flu diagnosis. It’s good that they can proceed with treatment now that that’s settled.
The well-wishes continue, as well as the offers of help.

I’ve never met her, but it seems that a lot of my friends have. How wonderful that so many people are concerned with her well-being you needed to set up a blog to get information out to them. I hope she’s feeling the love, and moves toward perfect health more quickly now that they know what’s going on.

I am glad things are moving in the right direction, and I can relate to breathing issues as my wife has cystic fibrosis. We are hoping they get the vaccine out quickly because imagine what H1N1 would do to someone with chronic breathing problems! Take care and get well!

Sven, it was a pleasure meeting both you and Kitty at Gulf Wars this year when I was Princess; I was especially happy the time I got to spend with you in the equestrian area chatting while you both competed. Know that We in Ansteorra are thinking of you both and sending our best for a quick recovery.

I’d give you best wishes for a speedy recovery for Kitty, only it simply hasn’t been speedy so far. So I’ll wish for her a complete recovery. You and Kitty are in my thoughts and heart out here in South Carolina, and if there is anything I can do let me know.

Now that the identity and combat style of the foe is known, Kitty can develop and master the skills to defeat it. She has mastered many other combat styles and foes in the past. We have every hope and expectation that she will quickly become proficient in these new skills also.
If there is anything we can do to aid you and Kitty, please call.

I literally freaked out last week when I heard Kitty was in ICU (with no further info available)..

I’m relieved to hear there is a diagnosis, but I’ll still be worried sick until she’s off the respirator. She sounds like she’s in good hands though, so I think she’ll be okay. But I hope you’re doing okay too, Sven.
